Kim Vinson

My name is Kimberly Vinson. I am a X33C apprentice that iscurrently on a rotation as a X67 coating inspector. I have been on my journey for almost 4 years now, and time has definitely been flying by. I am a boy mom to a very smart and energetic three year old who probably loves food more than he loves me. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and traveling while making memories with my son. I am also in the United States Army Reserves serving as an x-ray tech and a graduate student at Liberty University. My time here as an apprentice has been an amazing experience, and I am very grateful for all of the opportunities that I have been given. I have completed the Frontline Fast Program, served as a long-term make-up foreman, and volunteered with ASSA and NNS at events across Hampton Roads. These opportunities have allowed me to step out of my introverted shell to be more engaged and to connect more in the school and shipyard community. With all that I have been going through in my personal life over the past few years, I have remained ambitious and continued to show up every day to contribute my part to the team. My journey has led me here today, and I am proud of all of the growth I have seen in myself personally and professionally. Resiliency and being able to juggle multiple things is important as a leader, and something that I take pride in. I feel I am worthy of this opportunity, and it is an honor to be considered. #GoBuilders
